R&T Asia (Thailand) launches Intellectual Property practice headed by new partner Nuttaphol Arammuang

R&T Asia (Thailand) announced today the launch of an Intellectual Property (IP) practice which will serve clients across a comprehensive spectrum of contentious and non-contentious matters arising out of Thailand and the region.

The new IP practice will be led by Mr Nuttaphol Arammuang, who is well reputed as one of Thailand’s leading Intellectual Property lawyers with over 20 years of experience exclusively in IP. Mr Nuttaphol, who is also ranked by leading legal publications such as Chambers Asia Pacific, The Legal 500, and World Trademark Review, and recognised by Asia IP as an “IP Expert” for his all-encompassing expertise in disputes and transactional work, was until recently the Managing Partner of a full-serviced law firm in Thailand.

This IP practice will assist local and regional clients in the full suite of IP services from prosecution to commercialization and dispute resolution. Mr Nuttaphol’s experience covers a wide range of IP dispute matters including pharmaceutical patent litigation; patent infringement; design, trade mark and trade dress infringement; passing off; trade mark invalidation; copyright litigation relating to new media and technology; and obtaining preliminary injunction and Anton Piller orders. He will also lead the team in advising clients on licensing and franchising; IP portfolio management; patent drafting and searching; freedom to operate report and analysis; trade secret management; and data protection issues.

Mr Nuttaphol said: “R&T Asia (Thailand) is a well-established and leading firm which has seen considerable growth in recent years as part of the Rajah & Tann Asia network. I am honoured to be part of this team and look forward to building a leading practice to serve our Thai, Asian and global clients, supported by the many talents in the firm and network.”

The launch of the new IP practice in Thailand is in line with Rajah & Tann Asia’s strategy of enhancing its full-service capabilities to support clients and enable stronger regional collaboration with its nine other offices across the network.

Mr Surasak Vajasit, Managing Partner of R&T Asia (Thailand) said: “We are delighted to welcome a senior practitioner such as Khun Nuttaphol to augment our service offerings to our clients. His vast expertise in the practice area and experience in management will strengthen our team as we embark on the journey of enhancing our IP-related service offerings and building a full-service firm.”
