2014 Asian Legal Business (ALB) SEA Law Awards - Rajah & Tann Won Four Awards

Rajah & Tann won 4 awards at the 2014 Asian Legal Business (ALB) SEA Law Awards ceremony held on 29th May at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore.

It won the International Arbitration Firm of the Year award for the 4th time over the last 7 years. Rajah & Tann’s international arbitration practice enjoys a sterling reputation in the market and it continues to receive numerous accolades and awards over the years.

Earlier in 2014, Rajah & Tann was the only Singapore law firm to be ranked in the top 41 by Global Arbitration Review (GAR).

The GAR ranking were based on the number of cases handled, experience of counsel, size of claims and other qualitative and quantitative criteria. Rajah & Tann reported 38 merit hearings and 81 pending international arbitrations on its book of work with a total portfolio value of US$8.2 billion.

Rajah and Tann’s corporate practice also won recognition for their role in the takeover of Fraser and Neave.

The takeover of Fraser and Neave was worth US$11.2 billion and it was one of the largest and most intense takeover battles in Singapore. It involved one of the largest sale of minority stakes in two household brand names in Singapore’s corporate history.

Rajah & Tann’s involvement in this deal won them 3 awards, namely the SE Asia M&A Deal of the year, the Singapore M&A Deal of the Year and the SE Asia Deal of the Year.

This is the highest number of awards that can be won by a single deal at the ALB awards ceremony.
