Rajah & Tann Singapore recognised as a Top 100 International Arbitration Practice Worldwide by The Global Arbitration Review 100 (GAR 100)

For the 11th consecutive year, Rajah & Tann Singapore’s International Arbitration practice has been recognised as a top 100 international arbitration practice worldwide in the prestigious GAR 100 survey, released on 5 April 2019. Among Asian law firms, Rajah & Tann Singapore has the most number of pending cases as counsel (100+ cases) and highest value of pending counsel work (US$34.7+ billion). Highlights of our recent matters include successfully acting for The Kingdom of Lesotho in two precedent-setting wins in the first investor-state US$1.8 billion arbitral award set aside in Singapore; the matter was also shortlisted in the “Most Important Decision” category at the GAR Awards 2019; acting in a US$1.2 billion setting-aside challenge on behalf of a Chinese company in relation to a construction and financial dispute over a power plant in Guatelama and acting on behalf of the Philippine government in 3 arbitrations worth over US$17 billion against Shell and Chevron (in relation to a gas service contract), and two water concessionaires (in relation to the authority’s decision not to allow increases in water prices).
