C&G Law excels at the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Philippine Law Awards 2017

C&G Law, a member firm of the Rajah & Tann Asia network, has bagged several awards at the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Philippine Law Awards 2017 last Friday, clinching awards for Transactional Boutique Law Firm of the Year and its transaction for one of the Philippines’ largest power-producing conglomerates, AboitizPower’s acquisition of equity stake in GNPower plants, securing the firm for both the M&A Deal of the Year and Philippine Deal of the Year awards. 

In addition, C&G Law was a finalist for the following awards: Arbitration Law Firm of the Year, Banking and Financial Services Law Firm of the Year, Labour and Employment Law Firm of the Year, Litigation Law Firm of the Year, Philippine Deal Firm of the Year, Tax and Trusts Law Firm of the Year, Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law Firm of the Year, Philippine Law Firm of the Year, Debt Market Deal of the Year and Project Finance Deal of the Year.

Held in Makati Shangri-La, Philippines, the second annual awards recognises and rewards the outstanding performance of private practitioners and in-house teams who have significantly contributed to the evolving legal landscape of Philippines. The results are available here.

Rajah & Tann Asia Sweeps Five Accolades at Asialaw Dispute Resolution Awards

SINGAPORE, 29 September 2017 – Rajah & Tann Asia was awarded five accolades at the third annual Asialaw Dispute Resolution Awards 2017 held in Hong Kong last night. Collectively, its member firms took home the most number of awards.

Indonesia member firm, Assegaf Hamzah & Partners, won the Indonesia National Law Firm of the Year award while Rajah & Tann Singapore was named Domestic Arbitration Firm of the Year and Labour & Employment Law Firm of the Year. The firm also clinched the International Deal of the Year for its involvement in Pacific Andes’ $1.5 billion liquidation. In addition, Ben Dominic Yap, a partner at Philippine member firm, Gatmaytan Yap Patacsil Gutierrez & Protacio (C&G Law), won the Philippines Disputes Star of the Year.

Rajah & Tann Asia recognised at the WorldECR Awards 2017

Rajah & Tann Asia has emerged as runner-up for the “Export Controls/Sanctions Law Firm of the Year - Rest of the World” category at the WorldECR Awards 2017. Into its third year, the WorldECR Awards recognise the achievement of global export controls and sanctions professionals as well as the contribution of specialist export control and sanctions law firms and consultancies.

Rajah & Tann Asia was recognised for its export controls and sanctions work carried out by the firm’s Trade Practice. Notable matters considered for this award include successfully acting for a leading technology company in getting a positive decision in relation to a voluntary disclosure made to Singapore Customs, as well as advising the Singapore subsidiary of a U.S. manufacturer of precision metal components on compliance issues arising out of U.S. export controls and the laws of Singapore and Indonesia.
