Foreword
It gives me immense pleasure to introduce our Year in Review 2024 which recounts the key achievements and notable moments enjoyed by Rajah & Tann Asia last year.
2024 was a special year as it was the 10th Anniversary of Rajah & Tann Asia. We celebrated and commemorated the successful journey of our first decade, which is a testament to the efforts, talent and unwavering commitment of everyone in our member firms, the deep professional and personal bonds built up between our teams across the region, and the trust placed in us by our clients.
2024 was a fulfilling year of growth, momentum and the never-ending building of our network. We worked hard to forge ahead and make ourselves stronger, acting on the largest and most complex and challenging transactions and disputes in this part of the world. Our profile as the leading integrated and full-service legal network in this part of the world continued to grow and gain recognition on the global stage. We built new capabilities and ramped up our investment into and adoption of technological tools and solutions to help ourselves and our clients perform even better. We also enhanced our physical presence with the opening of a new office in Shenzhen, our second in China.
2024 saw a slew of new appointments across our network, with younger partners stepping up to assume senior leadership position in both management and professional practices. At the same time, we welcomed and promoted impressive young talent. We also proudly launched the inaugural RTA Community Day, where member firms came together to do good towards a common cause in their respective countries, and undertook long many other initiatives dedicated to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
Our Year in Review 2024 hopefully gives you a glimpse and reminder of the whirlwind of activity in Rajah & Tann Asia last year. Many heartfelt thanks to our clients and business associates, as well as to our own colleagues and friends, who contributed and made a difference!

RTA Community Day 2024
In 2024, we successfully completed our inaugural RTA Community Day where we rallied member firms across the Rajah & Tann Asia network to engage in community outreach to benefit disadvantaged children. At RTA’s 10th anniversary celebration this year, this initiative was commended by Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister in his speech.
Learning & Development
Our commitment to learning and development for our regional legal and business professionals takes many forms.
Our Regional Lawyer Development Framework is the axis upon which we curate the delivery of in-person, virtual and online events and activities spearheaded by the Rajah & Tann Asia Academy in collaboration with the Learning & Development teams in each office.
These wide-ranging courses and initiatives focus on the development of legal and non-legal skills and competencies to support our regional teams as they enhance their service orientation and become future-proof in the legal workspace. These events and activities also provide tremendous opportunities to connect, bond and collaborate across practice areas, jurisdictions and hierarchies. Our online platform, with 100 legal and non-legal courses, further empowers our legal and business professionals to take charge of what they learn and when.
Leadership Transition Programme in Kuala Lumpur
More than 80 newly promoted Partners and Senior Associates from across our regional offices gathered in Kuala Lumpur in May 2024 to draw on the experience of senior practitioners and each other. Fast-paced and engaging, this event was about setting up our newer leaders to thrive as their navigate leadership, people management and business development in their new roles.
Strategy and Development | Tomorrow's Drivers of Legal Business event
Held in Bangkok, Thailand in October 2024, this event saw Salaried Partners across 7 offices gather to explore people leadership and client strategies, future’s thinking, and future synergies. This group also had the opportunity to experience an engaging and fun Cooking Experience with our Thai clients in an evening filled with curiosity, discovery, laughter and new friendships.
