On 16 April 2026, Rajah & Tann Singapore organised a lunchtime seminar titled “2026 Dealmaking Playbook: From Tariffs to Tribunals: Managing Risk in an Era of Trade Volatility”.
Global trade is entering a new period of structural volatility. Tariffs are no longer short‑term policy tools. They are becoming embedded in a longer‑term legal and economic framework, where tariffs, investigations, and tribunals form an integrated architecture of economic statecraft. The session examined the practical challenges businesses now face from tariff exposure and compliance burdens to supply chain redesign, outlined strategies to manage these risks, and considered the growing role of disputes – administrative challenges, litigation, and trade tribunal processes – as businesses navigate an increasingly contested global trading landscape.
The speakers were Partners Kala Anandarajah, BBM (Head, Competition & Antitrust and Trade), Nathanael Lin (Deputy Head, Shipping & International Trade), and Tanya Tang. They were joined by market expert Ms Elizabeth Chelliah, International Trade Consultant from Singapore Business Federation, who shared practical trade and market insights.
