Disputes and Appeal arising from the construction and maintenance of a District Cooling Plant by Resorts World at Sentosa, Singapore

Acted successfully for York in resisting an appeal to the Singapore Court of Appeal which led to a written decision by the Honourable Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon (delivering the grounds of decision of the Court of Appeal) dated 2 May 2024 (Voltas Ltd v York International Pte Ltd [2024] SGCA 12) (“Voltas v York”). The Rajah & Tann Singapore team successfully represented the respondent (i.e York) in the proceedings before the Court of Appeal. The proceedings is part of an underlying dispute between the parties / claim by the defendant amounting to S$1.1 million. Managing Partner Ng Kim Beng from the International Arbitration Practice Group led the matter.
