On 9 May 2024, Rajah & Tann Asia (“RTA“) organised the Data & Digital Economy (“DDE“) Masterclass Series – Navigating the Artificial Intelligence & Data Protection Maze. The Masterclass Series brought together experts in DDE services who discussed the latest developments on data protection laws in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, with a focus on the impact of artificial intelligence (“AI“). Topics covered included:
(a) The AI regulation zeitgeist in Europe;
(b) The intersection of various laws from data and privacy to employment and intellectual property;
(c) The levels of risk and the corresponding obligations;
(d) Practical tips and tricks; and
(e) Scanning the horizon – what is next in this space for Europe and Southeast Asia?
