A Mandarin Executive Briefing: Tariffs, FTAs and the Business Adaptation Grant for Singapore Companies

On 25 November 2025, the Competition & Antitrust and Trade Practice organised a Mandarin Executive Briefing on Tariffs, FTAs and the Business Adaptation Grant for Singapore.

Singapore enterprises are facing a new era of trade disruption, characterised by rapid changes in tariffs, evolving rules of origin, and increased regulatory oversight in major markets. These developments are altering cost structures, delivery schedules, and cross-border contracting, while putting the resilience of regional supply chains to the test. Businesses operating in and through Singapore must therefore adapt quickly to re-evaluate their sourcing and manufacturing strategies, and strengthen compliance frameworks to protect both market access and profitability.

The speakers discussed recent tariff measures and implications for businesses in Singapore, and explored practical strategies to restructure supply chains and manage compliance risks. They also shared insights into how to leverage Singapore’s extensive free trade agreement network and trusted regulatory regime. They provided an overview of Enterprise Singapore’s Business Adaptation Grant which offers subsidies to eligible local companies for advisory and reconfiguration support given trade disruptions. It is to be noted that Rajah & Tann has been appointed Business Partner for Business adaptation Grant. For more information, please refer to our News Release here

The speakers comprised Partner Tanya Tang and Associate Ian Wong from the Competition & Antitrust and Trade Practice, as well as Kala Anandarajah, BBM, Head of the Competition & Antitrust and Trade Practice.
