Kevin is a Partner in Christopher & Lee Ong’s Dispute Resolution and Litigation Practice Group.

Kevin engages in a whole spectrum of work in the areas of construction and energy projects, where he advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters. He acts for a broad spectrum of clients, including government-linked entities, public and private sector companies, project owners, developers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and suppliers, providing commercially grounded and strategic counsel.

He regularly represents clients in high-value domestic and international adjudication, litigation, and arbitration proceedings involving multi-million-ringgit disputes. In addition, he advises on and negotiates construction-related contracts, including commonly used international forms of contract, such as the SIA Conditions or FIDIC form.

He has also been involved in arbitration proceedings conducted under the rules of leading institutions, such as the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).

He has also appeared before all levels of the Malaysian courts, representing clients across a range of complex and high-value disputes.

  • Acted as counsel in an arbitration involving disputes arising out of the unlawful termination of a Design and Build contract for a worker’s hostel in Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak.
  • Acted as counsel in an arbitration involving disputes arising out of the construction of an annex building for an international school.
  • Acted as counsel in an arbitration involving the mechanical and electrical works for a serviced apartment project in Johor Bahru.
  • Acted as counsel in an arbitration involving disputes arising out of the development of a hotel, apartment, and office.
  • Acted as counsel in various arbitrations involving building superstructure and substructure works for residential and commercial properties.
  • Acted as counsel in a High Court case involving disputes arising out of the contract relating to the interior finishes works of a service apartment project in Johor Bahru.
  • Acted as counsel in a High Court case involving disputes arising out of the construction of a 5-story building warehouse.
  • Acted as counsel in a High Court case involving disputes arising out of the construction of 280-unit apartments and 40-unit penthouse in Cameron Highlands.

  • Acted as co-counsel in various arbitration involving building and infrastructure consultancy services and fees.
