Selected Front-End Project Experience

• Advised the employer on the drafting, negotiation and execution of the main contract for the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Line 2 (MRT2) and Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3) projects in
  Malaysia.
• Advised the asset manager for the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS Link) project on the preparation of the tender documentation for the appointment of the systems consultant and systems contractor.
• Advised the employer on the preparation of the main contract and tender documentation for the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Line 3 (MRT3) project.
•  Advised the employer on the drafting, negotiation and execution of the main contract for a steel plant and blast furnace development project.
• Advised the employer on the drafting, negotiation and execution of the main contract for a waste heat recovery power generation project at a cement manufacturing plant.
• Advised the employer on the drafting, negotiation and execution of the main contract for the expansion and upgrading of a ceramic tile manufacturing plant.
• Advised a Malaysian affordable housing development agency on the review, restructuring, renegotiation and re-documentation of more than 30 development projects.
• Advised a PRC contractor on the drafting of project collaboration, development and joint venture agreements for the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project in Malaysia
• Advised a PRC contractor on the negotiation and execution of the main contract with the employer and subcontract agreements for the Gemas–Johor Bahru Double Track Railway Project in Malaysia.
• Advised the main contractor on the drafting, negotiation and execution of the systems works contract for the Klang Valley Double Track Railway Project in Malaysia.
• Advised a number of property developers and major contractors on the preparation and standardisation of their suite of standard form construction contracts and related project documentation.

Selected Project Management & Advisory Experience

• Advised on legal due diligence for a number of construction and oil and gas projects across the Middle East and Africa.
• Advised on and provided investigation support in relation to four major fire, explosion and casualty incidents involving oil, gas and petrochemical facilities.
• Advised PRC construction companies on the preparation of project compliance manuals for project implementation and delivery.
• Advised on project implementation and contract administration for a wide range of high-technology projects, including memory chip, LED chip, battery, semiconductor and data centre projects.
• Acted as Malaysian legal counsel to a number of PRC construction companies on their operations and projects in Malaysia.

Selected Dispute Resolution Experience

• Advised a PRC main contractor in an arbitration against the employer arising out of a landmark high-end mixed-use development in Kuala Lumpur, involving claims and counterclaims exceeding MYR1 billion, and subsequent proceedings to pursue claims against and enforce judgment against the parent company.
• Advised a PRC main contractor in multiple proceedings arising out of a luxury residential development in Kuala Lumpur, including adjudication, arbitration, litigation, enforcement proceedings and
  winding-up proceedings, involving claims and counterclaims exceeding MYR150 million.
• Advised a PRC main contractor in adjudication, arbitration and litigation arising out of a high-end mixed-use development in Kuala Lumpur, involving claims and counterclaims of approximately MYR600 million.
• Advised the employer in claims against the main contractor arising out of the Kuala Lumpur Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project.
• Advised the employer in a Singapore-seated arbitration against the main contractor arising out of a luxury property development in Singapore, involving claims and counterclaims exceeding MYR40 million.
• Advised the employer in a Singapore-seated arbitration against a PRC main contractor arising out of the construction of a steel manufacturing plant in Malaysia, involving claims and counterclaims exceeding MYR300 million.
• Advised a PRC main contractor in a Singapore-seated arbitration against the employer arising out of the construction of a data centre project in Indonesia, involving claims of approximately MYR30 million.
• Advised the main contractor in an arbitration against the employer arising out of an airport construction and concession project in Malaysia.Advised a Malaysian bank in an arbitration against a Middle Eastern contractor arising out of the implementation of an Islamic banking system, involving claims and counterclaims exceeding MYR20 million.
• Advised a Malaysian company in a commercial procurement dispute against a PRC company in an arbitration seated in Shenzhen and conducted under the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) Arbitration Rules.
• Advised a PRC company in court proceedings against the shipowner and shipping company arising out of the unlawful detention of construction materials in international waters and a free trade zone.
• Advised employers, contractors and consultants in court proceedings against insurers arising from the rejection of construction all risks (CAR) insurance claims, including disputes involving structural design, piling works, industrial plant damage and fatal accident claims.
• Advised a public water utility company in court proceedings against the relevant shipowner arising out of the rupture of a subsea water pipeline.
• Advised parties involved in court proceedings arising out of the collapse of a pedestrian bridge and the failure of an expressway embankment
