Albert is an experienced business attorney focused on mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions and general corporate matters. As a U.S. and Philippine-trained attorney, he advises clients in relation to inbound and outbound foreign direct investments and cross-border transactions. In light of his commercial background, he also advises clients regarding business disputes and legal remedies.
Albert practiced with Warner Norcross & Judd LLP in Grand Rapids, Michigan, U.S.A. from 2005 to 2012, and with SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan from 1997 to 2000 and from 2014 to 2017.

EXPERIENCE
- Acted as seller’s counsel in the divestment of a P1.7 billion real estate in Makati City.
- Acted as transaction counsel for e-commerce company in acquiring, and conducted due diligence on, a large track of land that will be developed and used as distribution and warehousing facility.
- Acted as Philippine counsel in setting up a joint venture via an acquisition of a stake by a global company in a local supplier of HVAC and air-conditioning system.
- Advised an educational institution with over 15 campuses on setting up rooftop solar facilities under a lease arrangement and assisted with negotiating and documenting the transaction.
- Advised a Chinese company on the offshore aspects of the engineering, procurement, and construction of a solar power project for the Clark International Airport.
- Advised a Chinese company on the creation of a security interest in a developer of a solar farm and solar storage facility in the Philippines.
- Advised an international fruit processing company with operations in the Philippines in the development of a self-generation facility that will use manufacturing waste that has been processed into biogas. The biogas processing facility will be developed, installed and operated by a third party while the client will cause the construction of a self-generation facility which
- Acts as corporate secretary for various corporations in various industries, including renewable energy, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, logistics, business process outsourcing, aeronautics engineering, and direct selling of consumer products.
- Reviewed lease agreements covering commercial spaces in various parts of the country for operators of business centers and shared spaces, and food and beverage establishments.
- Advised landowner on rights against a developer of high-end residential projects on account of breach of contract, and collaborated with litigation team in lawsuits against the developer.
- Structured and set up subsidiary in the State of California, U.S.A. of a large Philippine real estate development company.
- Conducted due diligence on manufacturing facility of automotive supplier in Michigan in relation to a potential acquisition by P.R.C. automotive supplier.
- Acted as co-counsel in relation to an acquisition of assets of a privately-held Japanese medical equipment manufacturing company worth approximately $70 million by a U.S.-based medical equipment manufacturer.
- Negotiated terms of €80 million infrastructure construction and supply agreement.
- Acted as counsel for a multinational Philippine food company in relation to the acquisition and divestment of U.S.-based assets.
- Structured and set up U.S. subsidiary of then privately-owned automotive supplier based in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, P.R.C.
