US$35.25 Million Insurance-Linked Securities Transaction

Acted as local deal counsel for MS Amlin in their US$35.25 million insurance-linked securities (“ILS”) transaction which closed in January 2024 which was the first ever Singapore ILS renewal under the same special purpose reinsurance company (“SPRV”). In this case, it was Phoenix 2 Re Pte Ltd, which issued the expiring collateralised ILS notes in December 2021 covering property catastrophe risks in emerging Asia. Partner Simon Goh from the Insurance & Reinsurance Practice Group led the transaction, alongside Partners Alvin Ee, Lee Xin Mei and Cheryl Tan, and Associates Alicia Lim and Chook Win Kit from the Capital Markets Practice Group.
