Acted for Royal Group Phnom Penh SEZ Plc, a Cambodian public-listed company, who entered into a joint venture with a Singapore public-listed company to construct and operate electricity generation facilities for a special economic zone in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The case was commercially significant especially in Cambodia, as it would have entailed a restraint upon the Royal Group of companies in operating its businesses – the Royal Group being Cambodia’s largest diversified conglomerate and investment holding company, and one of the largest drivers of Cambodia’s economy. The Singapore High Court application proceeded for half a year before it was eventually resolved by way of amicable settlement.
