Acted for Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd (“MIPL”) in its sale of Oakwood Worldwide, a premier global serviced apartment provider, to The Ascott Limited, a wholly owned lodging business unit of CapitaLand Investment Limited. Oakwood Worldwide is a premier global serviced apartment provider, with more than 50 years of expertise and an established reputation and brand. With approximately 8,500 operating units, it operates properties in regions such as China, Japan / Korea, USA, South East Asia, Australian and the Middle East. Partners Sandy Foo and Favian Tan led the transaction; Partner Benjamin Cheong advised MIPL on the intellectual property aspects of the transaction, and Partners Kala Anandarajah, Alvin Tan and Linda Qiao advised MIPL on the employment aspects of the transaction.
