Acted for United Overseas Insurance Limited in recovery proceedings against the sub-lessee of the insured’s (Tai Hing Metal) factory premises, Chuan Eng Leong Trading, for a fire that totally destroyed the insured’s factory premises in Singapore due to the crushing and compression of scrap metal by the sub-lessee which generated sparks that ignited the plastic waste compounds nearby in the factory’s recycling area in a claim based both in contract and tort.
