Maynilad Water Services Co against The Republic of the Philippines

Acting for an Asian State (Government) in two separate arbitration disputes before the Permanent Court of Arbitration, founded on separate claims (one over US$1.7 billion and the other over US$1 billion) brought by two separate domestic water and public utilities corporation (Claimant) for breaches of contractual undertakings provided by the Government, in respect of the Claimant’s separate exclusive right to manage and operate water-works and other facilities within the respective territorial concessions.
