Assegaf Hamzah & Partners, member firm of Rajah & Tann Asia, acted for the Minister of State Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia and for Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) in a landmark land dispute concerning a 13‑hectare plot in Jakarta’s GBK area.
On 28 November 2025, the Central Jakarta District Court ruled decisively in favour of the Minister of State Secretary and GBK, rejecting PT Indobuildco’s IDR28 trillion claim and upholding the State’s counterclaim. The Court declared PT Indobuildco’s occupation of the Hotel Sultan area unlawful, ordered it to vacate the site, and granted immediate enforceability of the judgment. It also awarded approximately USD45.3 million in compensation for the company’s use of the property from 2007 to 2023.
Partners Chandra M. Hamzah and Asep Ridwan led the matter, supported by Senior Associate Kharis Sucipto and Associates Inara Mahesa Chaidir, Albertus Aldio Primadi, Moh. Fernanda Gunawan, Mahdiyah Basuki, Talitha Risya Almira Irwansyah, and Stephani Gabriella Wijayawati.
