  • Assisting one of the world’s largest online social trading platforms in connection with their proposed expansion into Singapore relating to offer trading, wallet and custody services for both securities and cryptocurrencies, including assisting with the submission of capital markets services licence and major payment institution licence applications to the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
  • Advising the principal operator of the second-largest stablecoin in the world on their plans to establish a regional hub in the Singapore market, including the applicable licensing requirements under the Securities and Futures Act 2001 and the Payment Services Act 2019 in relation to their proposed business in Singapore, the relevant licensing exemptions where applicable and also highlighting any grey issues encountered especially in relation to the more innovative features of the their business.
  • Advising one of the world’s largest social media platforms on the launch of their innovative paid online events service and refining the related customer-facing documentation.
  • Advising one of Singapore’s first digital banks with the drafting of their digital banking customer-facing documentation that included novel and innovative digital services in the banking space.
  • Assisting one of the world’s largest banks with their proposed offering of pooling services to its customers that involved a close consideration of the guarantee, indemnity and set-off terms thereunder.
  • Assisting the Energy Market Authority on the development and implementation of a Forward Capacity Market in Singapore, a competitive market-based auction which procures adequate generation resources (or capacity) one to four years in advance to meet the target electricity supply reliability standard of Singapore’s electricity market.
  • Assisting two of the largest electricity retailers in Singapore in relation to their expedited exit from Singapore electricity retail market in light of unprecedented volatility in the Singapore Wholesale Electricity Market.
  • Assisting the Energy Market Company Pte Ltd on substantively revising and refining the Singapore Electricity Market Rules to reflect the proposed conceptual rule modifications in relation to the allowable remedies for the event of defaults.
  • Advising a major credit card brand in connection with its proposed business to deal in forward exchange contracts and various business requirements, including assisting in its ongoing engagements with the MAS.
  • Assisting one of the largest roboadvisory platforms in Singapore in connection with their proposed expansion to establish a separate business to provide online brokerage services in relation to listed shares and exchange-traded funds, which involved varying its existing capital markets services licence to include an additional regulated activity of dealing in capital markets products.
  • Advising one of the leading brokerage firms in Singapore in connection with their various new product offerings to its customers, including proposals on innovative employment of margins, use of algorithms and other technology to take into account the client’s input of financial goals and other parameters to construct suitable portfolios with corresponding risk levels.
  • Assisting one of the leading global banks with its proposed financing transaction with a borrower to fund the borrower’s acquisition of certain treasury shares in a public company.
  • Advising one of the largest chemicals and refining company in the world on the licensing and other regulatory implications of their new product offering to fall outside the scope of regulation.
  • Advising an American multinational conglomerate on the provision of commercial trade receivables financing to commercial entities and public sector entities.
  • Assisting on the largest asset managers in the world on the regulatory implications of a potential investment opportunity targeted at sovereign wealth funds.
