Acting for Singaporean bank who was the mortgagee of a vessel, which had capsized on its way to a foreign port for a prospective charter. The claim quantum at stake is approximately US$70.5 million, which includes the claim for the loss of the vessel as well as sue and labour costs.
The case involves highly technical factual issues and the consideration of various statutory and regulatory framework. The team has to ensure that the bank’s interests under those policies are also preserved whilst the present suit is on foot.
