The Rajah & Tann Foundation is the vehicle through which our firm channels donations to charities in an organised and focused manner, providing a focal point for lawyers and staff to participate in initiatives to raise funds for worthy causes.

The Foundation is spearheaded by the Grant Advisory Committee (“GAC”), which is made up of partners, lawyers and staff members of the firm. The GAC represents a cross section of the firm, and its structure emphasises the involvement of and stakeholding of every member of Rajah & Tann, not just its management. The main role of the GAC is to evaluate grant requests and potential partner programmes in order to decide how to allocate funds from the Foundation.

The members of the GAC are as follows:

Chandra Mohan Rethnam – Chairman
Tracy Ang
Yam Wern-Jhien
Tan Yuh Sheng
Mohan Somu

The GAC will work closely with the Community Foundation of Singapore (“CFS”), which serves to administer the Foundation. The CFS is an independent, nonprofit organisation which matches donors with those in need of financial assistance. With their expertise and knowledge of charities, we will be better able to allocate our resources to those in need.
